SALT LAKE CITY (AP)—The Utah Jazz have signed rookie point guard Sundiata Gaines(notes) for the rest of the season.

Gaines has had two 10-day contracts with the Jazz, who said Monday he will be spending the remainder of the season with Utah.

Gaines has been a fan favorite since his 3-pointer at the buzzer beat the Cleveland Cavaliers on Jan. 14.

He has played in seven games since the Jazz picked him up from the NBA Development League Idaho Stampede.

The Jazz also said Monday they have reassigned reserve center Kosta Koufos(notes) to the Utah Flash of the NBADL.
